Psychotic and Chaotic Rock

This is the kind of music that borders on demented. Sharp twisted sounds, psychotic dark lyrics that, at first listen, make NO SENSE, then, after repeated listens, makes PERFECT SENSE.

Touch and Go Records - Not evrything on this label was psychotic, the ones that were are: Killdozer, Butthole Surfers.
Trance Elements Records - Features Band of Susans, a more of a dark swirling noise rock band.
Homestead Records - Best bands: Live Skull, Sonic Youth(early stuff), and Nice Strong Arm.
Alternative Tentacles - Many were NOT really psychotic - of the few bands that were Grong Grong was the best. They sounded a bit like Killdozer.

This contains their 1st LP and Snakeboy on one CD. Snakeboy has got to be the all time best of this genre of music. Recommended tracks: River, L.Y.L.L.Y.D.E. , Don't Cry, Gone to Heaven, King of Sex, Going to the Beach, Revelations, Burning House, Big Song of Love, 57, and Cinnamon Girl - actually that is the whole record.

11 Tracks, 1985

I know, this band went 'normal' and pretty much ended up sounding like crap but this CD is PURE DEMENTIA. Songs like: Cowboy Bob, Lady Sniff, Eye of the Chicken.

Birthday Party - Probably could be called the 'kings of dementia'. A major influence on many bands, such as Scratch Acid.
Harvey Milk - Very hard to find this one - they sound like The Melvins at times, some songs are pretty long, maybe more of a noise rock band?
Circus Lupus - Intense psychotic noise, lots of rambling lyrics.
Skull Kontrol - Formed from Ex-Circus Lupus
Alice Donut - Not always very psychotic music, but the lyrics are very twisted.
Big Black - Um, yeah, this band has to fit in here somewhere.
